Ballina Shire Council permits one delegate from the CRA to attend the B ward meeting as a representative. One other person is also permitted to attend with prior consent from the Council chambers, however can only attend as a 'silent observer'.

About the event
Ballina Shire Council holds the B ward meetings once every two months. Cumbalum falls under the B ward zoning along with East Ballina and Lennox Head, and hence the CRA representative attends these council meetings to put forwards motions on behalf of the CRA, and has direct contact and discussion with the Councillors and the Mayor regarding relevant issues of the areas.
